Gwinnett County State Rep. Hugh Floyd

talks food safety and large animal care

with Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin

Gwinnett County State Rep. Hugh Floyd had a working luncheon this week with Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin.  Much of the 90-minute session focused on recent food recalls and the state’s ability to care for large animals, primarily horses, that are impounded due to neglect or the owner not providing proper care.

Floyd and Irvin also discussed the development of alternative fuels, agri-tourism, and other concerns.

Floyd is member of the Industrial Relations, State Planning and Community Affairs and Education Committees.
