Three ways to vote BEFORE Election Day

Absentee voting, early voting and advance voting in person

Absentee Voting

You may request an absentee ballot now. Absentee ballots must be received by the county board of registrars' office by 7 p.m. on election day. No absentee ballots are issued on the day before or the day of an election. You may download an application for official absentee/advance ballot and mail, fax or deliver in person to the Board of Registrars' office. The application must be in writing and contain the address to which the ballot is to be mailed, sufficient information to identify you as a voter, and the election in which you wish to vote - no reason is required when requesting an absentee ballot by mail.

Official Absentee Ballot Application forms can be picked up, mailed or faxed from the county office. For further information regarding absentee voting, please contact the Gwinnett County Board of Elections at 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 200, 75 Langley Drive (mailing address), Lawrenceville, GA 30045-6900 or phone 678-226-7210.

Application for Absentee Voting by fax: Print out the application. Fill it in. Fax it to the County Election Office at 678-226-7208. They will mail you a ballot to send back!

Early Voting

Monday, September 22 - Friday, October 24: Voters may cast an absentee ballot in person on weekdays, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Georgia voters are required to show one of six forms of valid photo identification when voting in person, during the absentee or advanced voting period or at the polls on Election Day. The valid forms of identification are as follows:
~ A Georgia driver's license, even if expired;
~ Any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, including a free Voter ID Card issued by your county registrar or Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS);
~ Valid U.S. passport;
~ Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority, or other entity of this state;
~ Valid U.S. military photo ID; or
~ Valid tribal photo ID.

For early voting locations, call the county registrars' office at 678-226-7210.

Advance Voting

Monday, October 27 - Friday, October 31 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Advance voting allows any registered voter to cast a ballot in person on the Monday through Friday of the week prior to an election.

At the advance voting office, you must fill out an application and provide one of the permitted forms of Voter Identification. You will then be issued a ballot that must be filled out and cast while you are in the office.

Please note that you cannot vote on the day immediately preceding the Tuesday election. If you choose to advance vote you cannot cast another ballot at your precinct on Election Day.

For advance voting locations, call the county registrars' office at 678-226-7210.

Also, please remember that October 6 is the deadline for registering to vote in this election. Please make sure all eligible family members, friends and associates are registered and exercise their right to vote. If you are registered but have not voted in the last eight years, you need to call 678-226-7210 and check your registration status.
