Public information meetings on I-85 HOV/HOT lane conversion

The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT), in cooperation with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), will hold a series of public information open house meetings concerning the I-85 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) to High Occupancy Toll (HOT) Conversion Project in Gwinnett and DeKalb Counties. The meetings are being held to provide general information and gather input regarding the proposed project.

The proposal consists of the conversion of 14.3 miles of HOV lanes to HOT lanes on I-85 just south of I-285 in DeKalb County to Old Peachtree Road in Gwinnett County. The purpose of the project is to provide travelers wtih reliable options to avoid the daily traffic congestion on I-85 and to get to their destinations on time.

The two meetings most convenient to residents of House District 99 are:

Thursday, April 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ashiana's Banquet Hall (inside Global Mall), 5675 Jimmy Carter Blvd., Norcross, GA 30071.

Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Discover Mills Mall, 5900 Sugarloaf Parkdway, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.
